The Auxiliary is now accepting applications for its 2017 artist-in-residence programme.
“The Auxiliary is a multi-disciplinary artist-led space with a focus on sonic based practices that are bold, experimental and challenging. Located Tees Valley of the North East. With its contradictory landscape of steelworks, sea and miles of North Yorkshire moors, The Auxiliary offers artists a unique perspective at the heart of post industrial England.
We provide both dry and wet studio spaces, as well as a gallery, a sound lab with recording facilities and residential space. We can also offer a selection of audio and visual equipment including microphones, a PA system, handheld recorders, camera and lenses and audio monitors with multi channel capabilities. Although we do not demand a complete project from our residents, we do encourage artists to leave some trace of their residency.”
