kim cascone – residualism

R-73953-1133923644There’s a sonic realm, based on a special kind of matter, only present as sonic. Aural illusions are created in the most intricate combination of particles that at times can be listened as cosmic detritus that gets suddenly aligned in a diverse flow of massive forces, merged and mutated in-between and developing complex morphologies whose mission is to put the listener inside a space of new categories, a circuit of diverse activities which not only appear to happen in the materiality of the sonic events themselves, but in the mystery of what’s remaining, that silent possibility of existence. Residualism is an interesting journey in a granular roller coaster, transporting microsonic events around different situations: something like a multi-dimensional river capable of reflecting the most exotic and variable qualities of an imaginary environment, in this case placed in our ear.
