Short documentary on Eduardo Miranda’s work on biocomputing and music composition, basen on a unique collaboration between organic computer processors made of a slime mould that serves as source for musical interpretation and sonic exploration.

The research, developed at ICCMR (Plymouth University, UK) has been focused both in aesthetic and scientific interests and has been explored in public two times, with two pieces respectively. The second and most recent one is called “Biocomputer Rhythms”, and besides the piano, adds some percussion and objects. Live footage can be heard in the following video.

There’s also another video on the previous piece. To know more about the project, visit Eduardo Miranda’s website, who has also other interesting projects on related topics, including artificial intelligence, algorithmic composition and music cybernetics
