A Manifesto for Care-ful Listening (listening for everything)

Listening Across Disciplines has published a wonderful manifesto result of their Points of Listening public event held at the De La Warr Pavilion.

“… we conducted participatory experiments in care-ful listening. Through the workshop process we created collaborative manifestos, guidelines, protocols and imaginations of listening that help us to tune in and take care, to hear the inaudible and that which does not fit within expectations of language and recognisable sounds.

The final iteration of the process is condensed into one Manifesto for Care-ful Listening (listening for everything). It means to act as a starting point, as an encouragement as well as a protocol for a care-full listening as it was worked out on the day by and with the participants. Its tone is one of care-ful instructions, adopting the imperative energy of manifestos for a sensitive listening activism, over four phases of care.” ─ Mark Peter Wright
